As a child, even my happiest moments were overshadowed by the sin in which I was daily subjected. Darkness and evil lurked everywhere, most often in those whom I trusted.
The actions of those who hurt and deceived me, left me believing I was too bad for love. No one would want a nothing and a Nobody. The internal message was that a sinless God would reject me and all my broken bits and pieces scattered about by sin and self.
The truth is, He loves us. Nothing that happens to us will make Him turn away. We are not too dirty, too broken, or forgotten as the enemy would have us believe.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:35
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38-39.
