One of the most difficult aspects of God's grace was accepting that His presence is everywhere. My thought being, "If you were there during the bad times, why didn't you intervene?" Over a decade later, and I'm just now beginning to understand that He does intervene, just not the way in which I would expect, and mostly unseen and unknown.

I have learned that God's idea of  protection and intervention are not necessarily mine, but even better than what I could ask.

As His word  through the prophet Isaiah clearly states, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," Says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
